Julie Coetzer (Owner)
Director | Senior Consultant
Julie started her travel career at Wynberg Travel in 1988 as receptionist for their Wynberg branch. From being employed as a receptionist she worked her way to becoming a senior consultant as well as manager of their Constantia Village operation. Wynberg Travel was then sold and then traded as Wynberg Executive Travel. She then became Marketing Director of the company assisting with the running of all the Dimension Data in-house operations spread throughout South Africa.
In January 2002 she resigned from Wynberg Executive Travel in order to join forces with Debbie Scott to form XL Absolut Travel. Her main role in the business apart from full time consulting is to concentrate on growing the leisure side of the business as well as being involved in both the Human Resources and Training side of the business. Julie loves travelling overland with her husband, discovering unknown places and relaxing in the bush watching the stars.
Debbie Scott (Owner)

Debbie started her career in travel at the Rennies Corporate Travel office in Cape Town. She worked alongside the office manager handling all the top 150 corporate accounts. In 1996 she relocated to London and was employed by Flextech Television in their in-house operation, managing all their travel requirements. She out sourced all the best corporate hotel, car and airline deals and co-ordinated all the television and entertainment conferences (MIP TV MIPCOM in Cannes and Edinburgh).
In 2000 she traveled to the United States and then returned to Cape Town to join Wynberg Executive Travel in the capacity as Senior Consultant and manager of their corporate office located in Mowbray, Cape Town. In February 2002 she resigned in order to start her own travel agency, Xl Absolut travel with Julie Coetzer. Her main role in the business is to concentrate on corporate travel as well as IT and Finance.
Debbie had a little baby girl in 2012 and is relishing her new role as Mother. Her passions are travelling and on her bucket list is still to do Machu Pichu
Diane Acton (Senior Consultant)
Diane Acton has been in the travel industry for 30 years, starting out her career at Rennies Travel in Port Elizabeth as receptionist in January 1985. She has been part of the XL Absolut team for the last 4 years operating as a senior consultant. After almost 9 years at Rennies Travel she relocated to Cape Town and worked for Transit Travel in Seapoint until March 1997, when she left to have a baby.
On Returning back to work she joined Sure Travelways until 2001, when she left to work overseas for 2 years, including SATO travel which was based in the UK on an American Airforce base doing bookings for the American army personnel based in Germany!
Since returning to South Africa she has worked for various large corporate in-house travel agents, leisure and corporate agencies including Uniglobe Travel. Outside of travel her great loves are reading, homeopathy and animals. Growing up in a flying family, she has always had a love for flying, and although does not have as much opportunity as when younger but loves to be a passenger in a small plane. Being a passenger and doing all the aerobatics manoeuvres with an experienced aerobatic pilot was one of the highlights of her life.
Beulah Lakay (Intermediate Consultant)
Beulah started off her travel career with us at XL Absolut Travel and has been employed since 2004. She started off her career as an intern, fresh out of Damelin College as a receptionist and has worked her way to becoming the most dynamic and finest corporate consultant.

I was given a great compliment today that I am a Jack of All trades, but would like to live up to that phrase. I guess as my soul and spirit is an explorer, that is why I am in the travel industry.”
Xabisa September (Junior Consultant)
Xabisa is originally from East London. After matric she studied travel and completed a three year qualification in travel and tourism at Boston Business College in East London.
After college she worked for XL Aloe Travel in 2011 to gain her travel practical experience. In 2015 she moved to Cape Town to work for Duma Travel and then joined Xl Absolut travel in August 2015.
Delene White (Head of Accounts)
Head of Accounts
Delene is our accounts manager who has been in the travel industry for 25 years. She was employed by Uni Travel in Seapoint for 13 years and has been with XL Absolut Travel for 12 years.
She has a passion for “figure’s” and people!
She is a very determined person and has a passion for life being married for 36 years with 3 adult children!
Lucia Amos (Accounts Assistant)
Lucia started off her career working for Harvey World Blue Planet Travel for 9 years and has been employed at XL Absolut Travel for 4 years giving her a total of 13 years in the travel industry.
Lucia operates in our accounts department and is in charge of all invoicing. She is determined, hardworking and full of humour! She is a team-player and has gained much experience and knowledge from her seniors in her past and present work-places.
